About Evan Fineout
Evan was born, raised, and home-schooled in Fort Wayne, Indiana but moved to St. Petersburg, Florida with his mother when he was 13.
He started public school for the first time at grade nine and got his a$$ kicked, mostly metaphorically. Although the transition from small town evangelical to medium town new guy was capital R-Rough, he’s grateful to have broken out of his fundamentalist-midwestern shell at such a young age.
Not very far into his freshman year, Evan discovered that the drama club at his school was one of the few beacons of kindness, acceptance, and shamelessly weird fun that seemed to exist in his new home. His high school theater became the most important thing in his life, as he discovered an inexplicable passion to play characters and entertain his peers. Finally having a structured outlet to put all of his inherent goofiness into, Evan felt truly confident for the first time in his life.
Weary of debt, Evan stayed home after high school to commute to St. Petersburg College, where he acted in numerous productions in the school’s theater department while pursuing coursework in digital media studies and videography. Evan received an AA degree and certificate of Digital Video Production before transferring to the University of South Florida for Broadcast Production and Theatre.
Feeling as though his time could be spent better, Evan left USF in the fall of 2019 to pursue freelance videography, regional theatre, and stand-up comedy.
Evan has spent years working and performing in community and professional theatre in Tampa Bay. He’s performed with notable organizations such as HatTrick Theater, Jobsite Theater, and Stageworks Theater. He also performs for the screen and was nominated for best supporting actor for his role in “Eldorado”, at the 2021 Orlando Independent Film Festival.
In August of 2022, Evan achieved a life-long goal of moving to his favorite city, Chicago, IL.
In June of 2023, Evan began training in the ACADEMY at Black Box Acting in Chicago; a 5 month long intensive acting conservatory program with a curriculum rooted in Meisner and Viewpoints. During his time there, Evan received extensive training in On-Camera work, Shakespeare, Voice, Script Analysis, Scene Study, and developed a structured artistic process based off the Black Box Method, created by current Steppenwolf Theatre Co-Artistic Director, Audrey Francis.
Evan has had a long-running albeit sporadically interrupted (thanks covid) pursuit of comedy. Since moving to Chicago, Evan has trained in improvisation at the Annoyance Theater and performed as a feature in stand-up shows at venues such as The Holiday Club and Red Room Comedy Club. He loves making alternative comedy shorts. He is inspired by the likes of Tim Robinson, Chris Fleming, and Joe Pera.
